The artist Jakub Hadrava in Luková

In Luková, a small town in the heart of the Czech Republic, there is a church dedicated to St. George. The abandoned structure had fallen into disuse for at least thirty years and was falling apart until Jakub Hadrava, one final year student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bohemia, has made its installation, attracting hundreds of tourists.

Burning Man Festival 2014

Si è concluso il primo settembre quello che è stato definito dagli organizzatori il più grande festival all’ aperto del Nord America, uno dei più originali e interessanti del mondo nato nel 1991.
Ogni anno i partecipanti del Burning Man Festival invadono parte del Black Rock Desert del Nevada.

Quest' anno ha richiamato circa 65.000 persone, riunite a formare una sorta di città provvisoria popolata da artisti, performers e partecipanti in arrivo da ogni parte del mondo.
Ossimoro festivaliero, Burning Man, rappresenta una sorta di “anarchia regolamentata“: se da un lato offre a ognuno la libertà di organizzare un’esibizione, un concerto o un workshop coinvolgendo gli altri abitanti della città temporanea, dall’ altro la Black Rock City ha regole ben precise.
L’unica forma di scambio accettata è il baratto, non si possono scattare fotografie, se non dopo aver richiesto un’autorizzazione, è proibito girare in macchina e ognuno deve allestire il proprio alloggio, spesso una tenda o un caravan.
Il nome Burning Man Festival deriva dalla tradizione di incendiare un grande fantoccio di legno durante l’ultima serata.
